Daniele Matias Hypólito (born September 8, 1984) is a Brazilian gymnast who competed in the 2000, 2004 and 2008 Summer Olympics. Hypólito was the first athlete from Brazil ever to win a medal at the World Championships, a silver on floor exercise in 2001. She is also the nine-time senior all-around Brazilian National Champion in artistic gymnastics, 2002 South American Games all-around champion and 2003 Pan American Games all-around bronze medalist. To date Hypólito has represented Brazil at the World Championships seven times, competing in every Worlds meet from 1999 to 2007, as well as the 1999, 2003 and 2007 Pan American Games.

Alicia Sacramone Biography

Alicia Marie Sacramone ( born December 3, 1987) is an American artistic gymnast.

Sacramone began gymnastics at the age of eight, began competing in the elite ranks in 2002 and joined the U.S. national team in 2003. At US National Championships from 2004 to 2008, she won twelve medals, including four golds on vault and two golds on floor exercise. At World Championships from 2005 to 2007, she won seven medals, including a floor exercise gold in 2005 and a team gold in 2007. At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, she won a team silver medal. In 2010, Sacramone made a comeback by winning the National Championship on Vault. Later in 2010 at the World Championships in Rotterdam, Netherlands, she won the World Title on Vault as well. Her gold gave her a total of nine medals overall, joining Shannon Miller and Nastia Liukin as the U.S. athletes with the most medals at the gymnastics world championships.

Sacramone has become noteworthy for supportive leadership of her teammates as well as outspoken remarks in interviews.

Sacramone was born on December 3, 1987 in Boston, Massachusetts to parents Fred, an orthodontist, and Gail Sacramone. She is of Italian descent. Sacramone has an older brother, Jonathan, who is 27 years old. She graduated from Winchester High School in 2006.

Sacramone began studying dance at the age of three and started training gymnastics five years later, at age eight, in 1996. She began her gymnastics career with Romanian coaches Mihai and Silvia Brestyan at Gymnastics and More club and continued to train with them after they opened their own training facility in Ashland. The Brestyans continue to serve as Sacramone's coaches.

Sacramone entered the elite ranks in 2002, placing seventh in the all-around and sixth on the vault in the junior division at that year's U.S. Classic competition. At the 2002 U.S. National Championships, she placed 22nd, but achieved a seventh place finish on the balance beam. Her results improved immensely the next year, when she placed 14th in the all-around and won a bronze medal on the vault at the 2003 U.S. Nationals, earning a spot on the U.S. National gymnastics team. Sacramone also participated in her first international competition in 2003, the Massilia Cup in France, where she placed fourth on the floor exercise and ninth on vault.

Almudena Cid Tostado (born June 15, 1980 in Vitoria, Spain) is an Individual Rhythmic Gymnast. She is the oldest currently competing elite rhythmic gymnast. Almudena lives in Barcelona. Almudena holds a modelling contract with Nike and she has modelled for an underwear store, Love Store. She speaks Spanish, Basque and English. Almudena is one of the only Western European gymnasts able to seriously compete against gymnasts from Eastern Europe.

Almudena started rhythmic gymnastics at age 6, her mother originally wanted her daughter to do ballet but, after her family commented on her flexibility she enrolled the young Almudena in rhythmic gymnastics. She has been a member of the Spanish National Team since November 1994. She became the first Spanish gymnast in history competing in two olympic finals, Atlanta and Sydney, and she is also the only rhythmic gymnast to make the finals at four consecutive Olympic Games - Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000, Athens 2004 & Beijing 2008.

In June 2001 the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique announced that Almudena's "body-apparatus relationship" with ball was approved by the Rhythmic Gymnastics Technical Committee. As the code describes the cid tostado element:

Starting position: on one knee, leg forward, ball held with the foot. large roll of the ball on both legs. Originality 0.10 (§ 2.6.5.)

At the 1996 Atlanta Olympics her final position was 9th, a total score of 38.515 (Rope 9.700, Clubs 9.683, Ball 9.566, Ribbon 9.566) and again at the 2000 Sydney Olympics she finished in 9th, her total score 38.907 (Rope 9.750, Hoop 9.725, Ball 9.691, Ribbon 9.741). In Athens she qualified for the finals in 9th, In the finals she was placed 8th, her best ever placing at an olympics, with a total of 98.450 (Ribbon 23.425, Clubs 24.900, Ball 25.000, Hoop 25.125). She competed in the individual all-around in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. She was 10th in the qualifying round and eighth in the final round with a total score of 68.100 (Rope: 17.000, Hoop: 17.000, Clubs: 17.150, Ribbon: 16.950).

Son Yeon-Jae (born 28 May 1994 in Seoul, South Korea) is a South Korean rhythmic gymnast. She is a member of the South Korean national gymnastics team, based in Taereung, Seoul. She is the 2010 Asian Games bronze medalist. She is currently managed by the IB Sports agency.

Alexandra Orlando Canadian Gymnastics

Alexandra Orlando is a 2008 Canadian Olympian and one of the best rhythmic gymnasts this country has ever produced.

Born and raised in Toronto, she was a five-time Senior National Champion, a Commonwealth Games six times gold medallist, world record holder and a three-time gold medalist at the Pan Am Games.

Since her retirement she has become an athlete advocate sitting on the board of Gymnastics Canada, Athletes CAN as Treasurer and an active member on the 2015 Toronto Pan Am Bid Committee.

Alexandra continues to be involved in her community as a motivational speaker, a gymnastics coach and judge and community outreach coordinator at her neighborhood high school.
